Jenny
Jenny (she/they) is a witch with her feet on the ground and her head firmly among the stars.
An artist, diviner, and herbalist, Jenny started working at the Raven’s Wing in 2013 in the Oakland store, and has been at the Portland store since the beginning. An anti-Zionist Jewish witch (among other things), she is passionate about offering a safe, magical community space and opportunities for learning and connection.
Jenny's path has been anything but direct, and it is the diversity of those experiences that drives her to look deeply into and contemplate the nature of all things. She has been reading cards for 20 years, and believes the answers to all our questions are already around us, we just can’t recognize them until we’re ready. Tarot is a powerful tool for revealing that unseen wisdom so we can make choices that lead us to greater self-realization.
In addition to reading tarot and petting Crow, Jenny coordinates events, leads the Full Moon Blessing Circle, co-leads the Brigid Devotional, and sells some of her handmade herbal goods under the label Sheltering Tree Herbals.
Outside of her day-to-day work at the shop, Jenny loves to make art about esoteric subjects such as absence, dislocation, and the nature of existence. She works in diverse media, sometimes combining textiles with painting or sculptural forms and found objects, and her influences include Art Nouveau advertising posters, Moebius, and Joseph Cornell. She has a BFA in Sculpture from California College of the Arts (and Crafts) and an MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
