Reading of the Week - April 16, 2023

For our Community Reading for the Week Iris from our Portland store shares her insights on what is in store for us in the week ahead. This reading starts today (Sunday, April 16th) and runs through the end of the week. She is using the the Gentle Tarot (pocket edition) by Mari in the Sky for this week's reading.

Mind - XXII The Unseen:
Sometimes the mind is a dark place, full of unknowable thoughts, unimaginable visions, and indescribable poetry. This state of being may seem frightening, and we may reach toward the light of a tiny handheld computer or the noise of a television to keep from having to be alone in the darkness. But it is this unique darkness that produces the new ideas we need, the surprising solutions to our problems. Just for a moment, let yourself be still. Let yourself know the quiet. Just listen, and witness your inner brilliance.

Body - Root of Stones:
We tend to be drawn to extremes. We want to "live fully" and we may push ourselves to run great distances or lift astonishing weights. However, strength and speed are not the only super powers a body can have. Chomp on a piece of fresh asparagus and let yourself be immersed in taste and texture. Pet an obliging kitty and experience softness and vibration until you're both purring together. The body is our method of experiencing the bounty of life.

Spirit - Two of Wands:
Inside each of us is a seeker, a pilgrim on a journey. We wander alone until we meet kindred souls, and then we walk together. Together we learn from one another, we provide for one another, and we watch each other bloom. This is the work of spirit, to be in mutual support with our community. It is in the connection with others that we know our highest calling.

Iris hosts the monthly on-line Cards on the Table - a monthly hands-on tarot practice - to help others learn about the Tarot and how to read cards for themselves and others.

The next session is happening on Wednesday, April 26th.
