With both a New Moon and Eclipse happeing at the same time (Apr 19, 2023 at 9:12 pm PST), let's get an Astrological Weather Repost from Anders (@astrowithanders) our Oakland store manager and resident astrologer.

It's not just a new moon, it's a Solar Eclipse and it sneaks in at the very last moment of Aries season at 29 degrees while applying to a square with Pluto at 0 degrees Aquarius.

The last and first degrees of each sign, called the "Anaretic" degree, are particularly charged and powerful. Eclipses often bring about beginnings and endings, sometimes simultaneously!

This eclipse in particular highlights the intensity of transition and you may feel like a situation reaches a breaking point where you can't tell if it's a breakdown or a breakthrough. Probably a bit of both. Pluto and Aries both like to play with power but in different ways - like an undertow vs an explosion. Both at the same time are chaotic and disorienting. It's ok to wait until it's over and try to rest in the meantime.

We'll gather under this special Solar Eclipse to learn about the Mars ruled cardinal fire sign of Aries! Part astrology class and part ritual, we'll spend some time exploring Aries energies through discussion and then do a ritual that embodies those themes.
