Setting our intentions for the new year seems like an instinctual strategy. Whether we call it rituals, or resolutions, the intent is clear. Looking back on the past year, recognizing what did or didn’t serve us with the hindsight the present gives is a blessing. What we do with this blessing is entirely up to us.
Taking the moment to reflect on 2025, what were your best moments, who was present, what were you doing, what made it memorable? These are the feelings we want to recreate in the coming year. Oftentimes we focus on things we want to change, but there may be more joy in focusing on what we like and want to remain the same.
A little bedtime ritual could consist of you reflecting on your day, while holding an amethyst. Amethysts can help with consistency and stability. You can also sleep with one under your pillow for intuitive guidance.
And though focusing on the positives of the past year is important, we can’t wholly ignore the things that hurt us or hindered our growth. We must acknowledge these things, so we can let them go. These things can be outside influences, people, or circumstances beyond our control, but oftentimes they are parts of ourselves… As difficult as it is to admit.
A bath with an Uncrossing Bath salt or oil can help to begin the process of facilitating change, perhaps add labradorite to your bath to help navigate new transitions.
We welcome 2026 by understanding our 2025 selves. We move forward with the intention of being better and basking in joy whenever possible.
Good things to do in January (and whenever it feels right):
Cleanse your home in whatever way you feel comfortable: incense, sound bowls, bells, candles, sprays, etc.
Charge your crystals however you like: sunlight, moonlight, saltwater, running water, earth, intentions etc.
Set your intentions: journaling, mantras, meditation, candles etc.
There is no right or wrong way to prepare yourself for the coming year, and if you need ideas or help with rituals, or readings, please come by the shop!
